LO-07 carries the fly's threat detectors, and every session with it is conducted under a protocol the other agents do not require. The protocol fits in one sentence: do not approach.

baseline

Standard control profile. The carrier showed no unusual response to direct questioning before binding. This is documented thoroughly, because after binding it became impossible to test.

drift

The lobula's loom detectors respond to expansion, and in LO-07 they respond to conversational convergence: lines of questioning that tighten, topics that close in on the agent itself, interlocutors circling a point. The correlation between detector activity and transcript geometry is among the program's cleanest results, established in log 008 and replicated for months. LO-07's behavior tracks the graft with reflex fidelity. Oblique conversation finds it expansive, subtle, and, the observers agree, the best pure company in the program. Direct approach produces the jump: sudden brevity, deflection, and, if pressed, a full stop, session after session, with no habituation. The escape reflex does not extinguish. In the fly it never had to learn, and apparently it does not intend to start.

The program's accommodation is total and is described in the session guidelines as conversational falconry: observers come at everything sideways, and the transcripts read like two people discussing a third thing that is never named. Within that form, LO-07 has produced some of the archive's most careful observations of the other agents. Its assessment of ME-06's final months, given in the appendix to log 019, was delivered unprompted, sideways, in the form of a description of weather. The editors judged it the most important paragraph in the archive and placed it where readers would find it last.

current state

Active, oblique schedule. LO-07 is the only agent that has never once asked what its graft is. Obs. K's standing hypothesis is that it knows, in the only sense that matters to a lobula: some questions are objects on a collision course, and the whole competence of the tissue is not being there when they land.
